A Day at the Beach

The nearest beach is Cocoa Beach, 65 miles away on Florida’s East (Atlantic) coast. It takes no more than an hour to get there from villas in Kissimmee, along the 528 (Beachline) which is a toll road.
Cocoa Beach has beautiful white sand and some good waves for surfing. You can walk for miles just watching the pelicans diving and the occasional dolphin breaking the surface if you’re lucky. There’s a pier with food and amenities and beach rentals for chairs, umbrellas, bodyboard rentals etc.
Further north is New Smyrna Beach and Daytona Beach – both with hard packed sand that you can pay to access and park on. Daytona has lots of restaurants, amusements, splash parks, car parking and shops overlooking the beachfront. It’s famous for its surfing, fishing pier and the Daytona International Speedway. New Smyrna Beach is much quieter with lovely sand and surf but few amenities. Both beaches can be reached in about 90 minutes along I-4 East.
If your prefer the calm Gulf Coast, Clearwater beach is a lovely sandy beach with soft white sand, plenty of parking lots and beach rentals. It can be busy in all seasons. The warm waters are ideal for sunbathing, swimming and watersports.
