Exploring Universal's Islands of Adventure

Islands of Adventure arranges its rides around a central lagoon, with each themed island feeling like its own self-contained world rather than a stop on a map. Marvel Super Hero Island, Jurassic Park and the snowy rooftops of Hogsmeade all sit within a short walk of one another, but the shift in scenery between them is total.

It's the thrill-seeker's half of Universal Orlando Resort, packed with story-driven coasters and splashy log flumes, and it's roughly 20–25 minutes from our vacation homes.

Seven themed islands ring the park's central lagoon, each with a distinct look and pace:

Planning an Epic Visit

Start with Hagrid's ride — it draws long lines fast, so head there right at opening.

Park-to-Park pays off — it's required to ride the Hogwarts Express between Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley.

Pack a poncho or spare clothes — the water rides here are properly splashy.
