Blizzard Beach at Walt Disney World

Blizzard Beach imagines a ski resort that started melting in the Florida sun, and the park leans all the way into the joke — snow-capped peaks, a chairlift, and slides that run down what's supposed to be a mountain of melting snow. It's one of two water parks inside Walt Disney World and skews toward guests who want real speed on their slides.

The mountain at its center is called Mount Gushmore, and most of the park's biggest attractions run down some part of it.

Slides Worth the Climb

Summit Plummet — A near-vertical free-fall slide that ranks among the tallest and fastest body slides anywhere.

Slush Gusher — A double-humped slide with real speed but a shorter drop than Summit Plummet.

Teamboat Springs — A long family raft ride that winds down the mountain in wide, swooping curves.

Downhill Double Dipper — Two side-by-side slides for racing a sibling or a friend to the bottom.

Runoff Rapids — Three tube slide routes, including one open-air option for anyone who wants to see where they're going.

Chairlift Ride — A ski-lift ride up Mount Gushmore, doubling as a scenic shortcut to the top slides.

Family & Toddler Areas

Tike's Peak — A snow-themed splash zone with mini slides and fountains sized for toddlers.

Melt-Away Bay — A wide, gentle wave pool for floating rather than racing.

Cross Country Creek — A lazy river loop around the whole park, complete with a chilly cave partway through.

Making the Most of a Blizzard Beach Day

Head to Summit Plummet first — the line only grows once the park fills up.

Wear water shoes — the ground gets Florida-hot even though the theme is snow.

Rent a locker — for anything that shouldn't get carried between slides.
